Lowcountry Angel Academy

Build the judgment to invest in startups.
You already know how to assess opportunity. Angel investing asks you to apply that judgment in a different setting—where information is limited, outcomes are uneven, and asking the right questions matters.
The Harbor Entrepreneur Center invites a small cohort of accredited investors to participate in the inaugural Lowcountry Angel Academy, a three-session practical program focused on evaluating early-stage companies.
Experienced angel investors and startup professionals will guide participants through assessing risk and return, developing an investment thesis, conducting due diligence, understanding deal terms, and approaching portfolio construction with intention.
This is a working academy, not a lecture series. Participants will review startup cases, score opportunities, work through a term-sheet simulation, and evaluate curated Harbor founders through investment committee-style discussions.
What You’ll Leave With
- A repeatable framework for screening opportunities and conducting due diligence
- Practical fluency in valuation, cap tables, SAFEs, convertible notes, term sheets, and dilution
- A clearer personal investment thesis and portfolio approach
- Connections with other accomplished Lowcountry investors and the region’s founder community
